Week of March 17, 2019
We thank Father Byrnes and all our faculty and staff members who willingly volunteered to participate in our “Pie in the Face” contest to commemorate National PI Day! We also thank the students for purchasing the pies for such a worthy cause. All proceeds will be donated to the Missionary Childhood Association.
We welcome Ms. Nicole Farabaugh from the Cambria County Farm Bureau on Monday, March 18th. She will read to our kindergarteners and our first and second graders on behalf of The Ag Literacy Program. We look forward to her visit!
Our sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students will be attending a junior high Lenten Retreat hosted by Bishop Carroll Catholic High School on Thursday, March 21st. We thank Bishop Carroll for affording our students this opportunity.
The Prince Gallitzin Quadrant Forensics Competition will be held on Friday, March 22nd at Holy Name. This competition is open to all students in grades 6 through 8. This year, twelve of our students have chosen to take part. We wish the best of luck to: Maya Baker, Haley Gray, JoAnna Hoover, Jude Koehle, Colleen Barnett, Alaina Toth, Braden Wherry, Austin Gray, Briette Hite, Brenna Phister, Gage Spielvogle, and Isaac Strittmatter. Students who place in their category will then move on to the Diocesan Forensics meet on Friday, March 29th, at Bishop Carroll High School. We thank Miss Sarah Steinbugl and Mrs. Amber Shaw for coaching and preparing our students for competition. We wish all our participants the best of luck!
Students will be attending Mass @ 8:45 am and Stations of the Cross @ 2:00 pm Friday, March 22nd. All are welcome to join us!
Save the date! Saint Michael School Council is sponsoring an “Applebee’s” fundraising event to benefit Saint Michael School on Sunday, March 24th from 11am -9 pm at the Ebensburg location. Our school will receive 15% of the total group sales. Applebee’s gift cards can be purchased through our SCRIP gift card program which will add to our profits. Please join us as we “Dine to Donate.” Our flyer announcing our participation can be found on our school website, @ www.st-michael-school.org under the “Support Our School-Fundraisers” (Dining to Donate) tab or stop by the school office and we will provide one for you. This flyer must accompany your check when paying for our school to receive credit. Thank you in advance for supporting us! We look forward to dining with you!
COUGAR LOTTO is here! WEEKLY DRAWINGS for 10 weeks, beginning Monday, April 15th through June 17th 2019. Each ticket contains two sets of numbers. Prizes are awarded for the EXACT NUMBER ($100), ONE NUMBER ABOVE ($25), and ONE NUMBER BELOW ($25). Winning numbers are based upon the Monday evening PA PICK 3 LOTTERY daily number. Tickets cost $25. Only 500 tickets sold! All Proceeds benefit Saint Michael School. Registration for kindergarteners, new families, and re-registration for students currently enrolled at Saint Michael School (K-8) is underway. Students registering for kindergarten must be 5 years of age by August 31, 2019. If you have any questions or are interested in registering your child, please call the school office @ 472-9117.
